CQC v University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust

Acted for the Trust in a prosecution concerning care provided on an acute ward to a young person suffering from severe mental illness. The Trust were prosecuted for a failure to provide safe care and treatment arising from deficiencies in the missing person’s policy, whereby a young person left the ward and ended her life in the hospital grounds.
